“I hope it will be a year that will be remembered for the rest of my life because it is the last season of college.”

Chung-Ang University captain Lee Joo-young (183cm, G) is preparing for 2023 in Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Lee Joo-young, who was constantly given opportunities to participate as soon as she entered Chung-Ang University, grew as time passed while going through ups and downs.

Lee Joo-young, whom he met after completing all training on the 9th, said, “(Being a senior in college) doesn’t feel real. I really hope that the league will start sooner than I thought. There are expectations for new players, and I am excited because it is the final season (college). Last season was fun, so I want to do it quickly.”

I felt more relaxed than ever in Lee Joo-young’s expression, which I will watch from his days at Samil Commercial High School.

Lee Joo-young said, “I think it’s because I’m more confident than when I was in the lower grades.”

Lee Ju-young made many mistakes in the opponent’s pressure defense during his freshman and sophomore years. He also recorded 15 errors and an average of 5 errors in 3 games in the 2021 College Basketball League 1st Tournament.

It was different in his last season. In 2022, even after playing in 14 college basketball league games for an average of 29 minutes and 59 seconds, the total number of errors was significantly reduced to 13 and an average of 0.9. Taking the pressure off his leading guard also played a part. 토토

Lee Joo-young said, “I don’t think I did well last season. He thinks it comes from experience. I had a lot of failures and overcame them, so I think that’s why I was able to afford it,” he said. I got lost in 1st and 2nd grade. Last season, his older brothers helped me to save my strong shot, and his classmates and juniors, Oh Soo-hwan, Kang Hyeon-soo, and Kim Hyu-beom helped me. His mistakes were reduced thanks to his teammates. I made a lot of mistakes in the 1st and 2nd grade, so I think good results came from practicing steadily, through the teacher’s point, and through practice.”

However, in the MBC Cup National University Basketball Tournament, many mistakes were made again with an average of 4.0 mistakes.

Lee Joo-young said, “When I think about it, I had more opportunities to attack on MBC ships. At that time, it was a mistake that I was trying to do something rather than a stupid mistake. I wasn’t too disappointed in that aspect.”

In fact, if you look at the average score of the college basketball league and MBC times, the scoring power has risen significantly to 10.8 points and 16.5 points.

Any university needs to fill the college graduate void. At Chung-Ang University, Park In-woong, Moon Ga-on, and Jeong Sang-hoon left the team.

Lee Joo-young said, “This year’s player composition and style are different from last year. Rather than solving problems, we move more by ourselves. So I will be able to fill the missing parts that the hyungs left.”

When asked what to improve during winter training, Lee Ju-young said, “My role was the same last year, but this year I have to watch more offense and throw more shots as a shooter (37.7% of 3-point shots in the college league last season). To do so, of course, you need stamina. I train to focus on building up my stamina while being careful of injuries,” he said. There is a limit to practicing games between seniors and freshmen. This is because new students need time to adjust. It was a difficult time, but I am overcoming it, and the atmosphere is changing, so I will be able to do well in winter training.”

This year’s college basketball league is known to be in early March, earlier than the recent opening. There are now less than two months left until the start of the college basketball league.

Lee Joo-young said, “I want to go to the playoffs like last season, and since it is the last season of college, I hope it will be a memorable year for the rest of my life.”
