Kim Siu-Ahn Byung-Hoon tied for 7th in 1R of the Charles Schwab Challenge

Si-Woo Kim and Byung-Hoon Ahn are tied for seventh place after the first round of the Charles Schwab Challenge on the U.S. Professional Golf (PGA) Tour ($8.7 million purse).

Kim carded five birdies and two bogeys for a 3-under 67 in the first round at the par-70 Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday morning (Aug. 26). Ahn Byung-hoon also made five birdies and two bogeys to finish in a tie for seventh place with Kim Si-woo.

Kim and Byung-hoon Ahn started their match on the 10th hole. Kim reeled off three straight birdies on the 10th and 12th holes, while Byung-hun Ahn reeled off four straight birdies on the 11th and 14th holes to move into the top 10. Kim is coming off a tie for second at the AT&T Byron Nelson, which ended two weeks ago, while Ahn is looking for his first top-10 finish since a tie for sixth at the Valero Texas Open earlier this month.

Harry Hall (England) is alone atop the leaderboard after carding eight birdies in an 8-under 62. Harris English (USA) is in second place at 5-under 65. Four players, including Tom Hoag (USA), are tied for third at 4-under 66. Fifteen players are tied for seventh, including Kim Si-woo and Byung-hoon Ahn. Club professional Michael Block (USA), who is coming off a hole-in-one and a tie for 15th place at the PGA Championship, which concluded today, played as an invitee and is tied for 120th at 11-over-par 81. Block made two birdies but was overcome by seven bogeys and three double-bogeys.
