Masango pulls off upset over favorite Deoksugo.

Masango advanced to the second round of the 78th Cheongnyonggi National High School Baseball Championship with an 11-4 victory over Deoksugo in game one of the Weekend League Wangjoong Wangjeon at Mokdong Baseball Stadium on Tuesday.

Masango’s ace, sophomore Kim Yoon-ha, is an imposing 6-foot-2, 190-pounder. Along with Ok Jin-ryul, Kim is a long right-handed orthodox pitcher who stands over 190 and has been the center of attention for scouts.

Masango pulled off the upset by winning a cold game in the seventh inning against Deoksugo, who won the E-Mart Bae title in April.

After defeating Deoksugo, Masango will meet Busan Go, who won a cold game in the sixth inning against Woosung AC in the sixth inning the previous day, at Mokdong Baseball Stadium on May 13 at 11:30.
