‘Tour Debut 20th Anniversary’ Kang Kyung-nam, “I’m confident in confrontation with young players”

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of his tour debut this year, Kang Kyung-nam (40) is preparing for the season with more determination than ever before.

Kang Gyeong-nam, who joined the KPGA Tour Pro in August 2003, successfully debuted on the regular tour by securing a seed in 2004. Excluding 2014 and 2015, which were during his military service, he participated in 237 competitions by 2022. Of these, he passed the cut in 195 competitions and entered the top 10 93 times. He has maintained his seed every year and has never dropped outside the top 50 on the Genesis money list. 슬롯사이트

In response, Kang Kyung-nam said, “I wasn’t lazy. He always maintained a consistent amount of practice. He never practiced less,” he said. He had a lot of help around. Especially after his marriage, thanks to his wife and two daughters, his psychological stability has become a great strength. Even in his self-management, he has become more faithful.”

Kang Kyung-nam has won 11 championships so far. The first win was achieved at the Tomato Savings Bank Zephyros Open in 2006. Kang Kyung-nam said, “From 2005 to 2007 was the best period. At that time, golf really became what I wanted,” he said. “It didn’t take long to add championships after finishing my military service. Thanks to that, he was able to continue touring with confidence.”

The recent win is at the 2021 Biz Play Electronic Newspaper Open. Kang Gyeong-nam, who won his 11th championship cup, is tied for 7th in the domestic multiple winners list with Choi Yoon-soo (75) and Park Sang-hyun (40). In terms of domestic prize money, he is second only to Park Sang-hyun.

Kang Kyung-nam said, “Looking back at the 11 victories, the Biz Play Electronic Newspaper Open win is the most memorable.” However, in this tournament, he took the lead from the 3rd round. I had to protect it, but in the final round, (Kim) Joo-hyung and (Ok) Tae-hoon pursued fiercely. After confirming the championship, he said, ‘It’s because I felt that ‘I still have enough competitiveness even against young players’.”

Currently, Kang Kyung-nam is in the midst of quenching for the new season in the United States. The main sponsor has also changed, so they are more determined than ever.

Kang Kyung-nam said, “The goal for 2023 is to win. Since there are not many players in their 40s active on the tour, it will be more meaningful if they win.” As always, we will prepare hard before the opening this year.”
