Go Woo-seok, a closing pitcher for the LG Twins of the KBO, would be a great fit for the Chicago Cubs, according to an American media outlet.
In a recent article titled “4 Asian Players the Cubs Could Target This Offseason,” Fansided’s Kirby Gribb wrote, “If he can fill a Julian Merriweather-like role in the seventh inning, he could be a solid signing for the Cubs this offseason,” he said.
“He’s more of a middle-inning reliever than a late-inning reliever in the MLB,” said FanGraphs. His fastball is solid and he has a plus curveball.”
In 2022, Go led the KBO in saves (42) and K%-BB% (24.6%), while posting a 1.48 ERA. He also had a 33% strikeout rate.
“He could be the quintessential MLB power reliever in short supply,” Fangraphs wrote, adding that “MLB will likely deploy him more in a middle-inning role.”
Curvis Grip was particularly interested in Go’s strikeout rate in the hitter-friendly KBO.토스카지노
Go could try his hand at MLB as a postseason player.
Kirby’s Grip also noted that Lee Jung-hoo (Kiwoom Heroes) would benefit from coming to the Cubs. There is some concern about MLB pitchers’ fastballs and high groundball rates like Seiya Suzuki’s, but it shouldn’t be a problem as he only had a 5% strikeout rate last year.
The outlet also suggested that Nippon Professional Baseball’s Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Livan Moinello are other possible candidates.
